 Empower Your Future

Women In Coffee has an ongoing commitment to education development for rural children.

The members of Women In Coffee, working with the non-profit Kunene Foundation Trust, continue to focus on building support programs for students and expanding partnerships necessary to reshape education infrastructure.  The pass rate of KwaHluzinqondo High School in Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa was 33% and the school was considered a "failing school".  With our development partners at the Kunene Foundation we started small and established a school food program, knowing that the echo of a hungry stomach drowns out an inquisitive mind. We then established a tutoring program, hiring unemployed graduates. The pass rate increased to 39% the first year, then 47% the second , then 64% rising consistently until reaching and remaining above 89%.

With the support of our partners including; the Bidvest Group, the Dinatla Consortium and the Airports Company South Africa, we have raised over $1 Million for community development. The school now has a Library, a Computer Lab as well as a Science Center and continues to be one of the leading schools in area.

We can make an impact, when we work together
